The ground rules for using pair. Short version: be 18 or over, be yourself, be kind. The long version is below, written to be read, not skimmed past.
These terms are an agreement between you and PAIR DATE LIMITED (company number 17278532, registered address Flat 1 Church Court, Church Road, Fleet, GU51 4ND, England), which runs the PAIR app. By creating an account you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use PAIR.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
To use PAIR you must:
We may ask you to confirm any of these, and we may remove accounts that do not meet them.
Keep your login details secure and do not share your account. Give accurate information, including your date of birth, which cannot be changed after sign up except through support. You are responsible for activity on your account.
PAIR suggests matches based on compatibility, using your assessments, your profile and AI. We work hard to make it useful, but:
PAIR is free to use. PAIR Premium is an optional subscription that unlocks extra features, as described on the subscription screen in the app.
PAIR has zero tolerance for abusive or harmful behaviour. You must not:
You can report and block any member from their profile or your conversation. When you block someone, you disappear from each other’s browse decks and you stop being able to message each other.
We check content automatically before other members see it, and we review reports. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. We may remove content, and suspend or permanently remove accounts, that break these terms. Content suggesting child sexual abuse leads to immediate suspension and a report to the National Crime Agency.
You own what you post: your photos, bio and messages. You give us a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free licence to host, store, display and process it for the purpose of running PAIR. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep something under our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you post, and you promise you have the right to post it. If you use an AI suggestion (such as a bio or a Pair Sense rewrite), it becomes your content once you post it, so check it first.
Be careful when talking to people you do not know, and especially when meeting in person:
We are not responsible for how members behave, on PAIR or off it. If you are in danger, call 999.
You can delete your account at any time in Profile, then Delete account, or without the app at pair-date.com/delete-account. You then have 30 days to restore it, after which it is permanently deleted (see our Privacy Policy). Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription: cancel that in your iPhone Settings or the Google Play Store.
We may suspend or remove your account, without notice where it is urgent, if you break these terms, if we must by law, or to protect members or PAIR. If we remove your account for breaking these terms, you are not entitled to a refund from us for any remaining subscription period.
The PAIR app, name, logo, design, assessments and technology belong to PAIR DATE LIMITED. You may use the app for your own personal, non commercial use. You may not copy, change, reverse engineer or resell it.
We provide PAIR as it is and as available. We aim to keep it running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
We are not responsible for losses that we could not reasonably have foreseen, for how other members behave, or for business losses. Otherwise, if we cause you loss, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for PAIR Premium in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under UK law.
We may update PAIR and these terms. If we make an important change to these terms, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using PAIR after that, the new terms apply. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.
These terms are between you and PAIR DATE LIMITED, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for PAIR or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If PAIR fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for PAIR. Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to PAIR, including product liability claims, claims that PAIR fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
If you downloaded PAIR from Google Play, your purchase is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. These terms are between you and PAIR DATE LIMITED, not Google, and Google is not responsible for PAIR or its content.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem.
